Reason 6

"My favorite people in life are the ones who looked at what they thought they wanted, turned away...admitted their wrong, hugged the ones they were with and said, "today is all I needed." Too many people look at the focal point of a picture and fault on the opportunity of the background." -- Caitlin Winn

I would like to point out that she wrote this while sitting in my lap, right before throwing the softball over the fence... Twice. True story.

I've had a lot of roommates but Caitlin Winn by far wins best roommate award. She makes our Dungeon (a.k.a. the basement of our house) feel like home. With her, I feel less alone in my last minute plans because I'm pretty sure she does things with even less planning than myself.

Cait: "Will you guys get dressed up for the Derby with me?" Without hesitation, "Yes."

Me: "Wanna look at pictures of my brain?" Cait: "Absolutely."

Cait: "Wanna watch murders with me?" Me: "Always." (forensic files & documentaries, not actual murders)

Me: "Can we build a blanket fort?" Cait: "hell yes, but we can only watch Disney movies in the fort."

These are our actual conversations. I have never met someone with such wonderfully dark humor and I have no words for how much I appreciate it. On my worst days, she silver lines my clouds with blood (not literally) and it makes the difference. She has been one of my anchors here in Denver. I love that we can share pretty much everything. Even showers.

I'll stop myself there, for the sake of not oversharing.

As you can probably tell from the quote at the top, she's a spontaneous little spitfire. She's living her life for her and loving those around her greatly. I am so grateful to be included. I look forward to all the childish nonsense that comes our way.

That is why I keep living. Because I am loved. Because I love her too much to let her live a life without me.
